Thomas Herrod
Financial Adviser
As a lifelong resident of Joplin, Missouri, Tom is committed to helping individuals and families in his community build more secure financial futures. He is the founder of Herrod Financial Group, where he provides personalized, holistic financial planning* designed to help clients align their finances with their goals and values. Tom works closely with clients to create strategies for retirement, investment management, risk protection, estate planning, and more.
Tom holds an MBA in Finance from Missouri State University and brings decades of experience to his advisory relationships. He is passionate about empowering others to make informed financial decisions and takes pride in building lasting, trusted partnerships with the people he serves.
Tom and Mary Lynn, his wife of over 30 years, have two adult daughters and two adorable grandchildren. Outside of work, Tom enjoys a variety of outdoor sports and adventures with his family and friends.

Mary Lynn Herrod
Office Manager
Mary Lynn is the Office Manager and the glue that holds Herrod Financial Group together. She has worked alongside Tom throughout his entire career, supporting both Herrod Financial Group and Herrod Development Company in a variety of roles. Her depth of experience and unwavering commitment make her an integral part of the firm’s day-to-day operations.
Mary Lynn enjoys the challenge and variety that come with her role, but what she values most is building meaningful relationships with clients. Known for her gifts of encouragement and hospitality, she brings a personal touch to everything she does and helps create a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the door.
In her free time, Mary Lynn enjoys traveling with Tom and is especially fond of mountains and beaches.
Whitney Herrod Khader
Operations Coordinator
Whitney is the Operations Coordinator at Herrod Financial Group, where she brings a strong eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of her work. With over a decade of experience working alongside her parents, Tom and Mary Lynn, Whitney plays a vital role in supporting the firm’s operations and elevating the client experience.
Her responsibilities include administrative support, internal processes, and client deliverables. Whitney’s background in design and styling adds a polished touch to each task along with a fresh perspective on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Whitney currently resides in Denton, TX, with her husband, two children, and two cats. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places, creating beautiful things, and making memories with her family and friends.
Angela Caster
Administrative Assistant
Angela is the Administrative Assistant at Herrod Financial Group, where she provides essential support to the team and helps keep daily operations running smoothly. She brings a diverse background in administrative work, accounts payable and receivable, and client services. Her broad experience allows her to adapt easily and step in wherever needed, making her an invaluable part of the office.
Known for her friendly demeanor and go-getter attitude, Angela approaches each day with enthusiasm and a strong sense of teamwork.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and taking on creative projects. Angela values time with her husband and daughter and finds joy in discovering new places and experiences together.
