Tom is passionate about God’s Resort, a not-for-profit corporation offering safe, affordable, and dignified housing to people whose lives are changing for the better in Joplin, MO. Their mission is to help people through a Christ-centered community to choose freedom from their past and reach their full potential as children of God.

Neighborhood Life House serves the northwest Joplin area, a neighborhood rich in story and history. The team seeks to work with members of the neighborhood to empower people to see what they can be with the help of God through mentoring, education, and physical and spiritual partnership. Life House is especially close to Tom's heart.
Rapha International is committed to combating the trafficking and sexual abuse of children through holistic care for survivors, prevention services for vulnerable children, and support for families and communities. Rapha International operates high quality programs in Cambodia, Thailand, Haiti, and the United States. Whitney worked with Rapha as a volunteer and staff member for several years.

Missouri Southern State University produces graduates ready to play active roles in the global world. They offer a community that inspires innovation and immersive learning, creates transformative experiences, and promotes a culture of excellence. Tom graduated from MSSU (formerly MSSC) with a BSBA in Marketing and Management in 1986, and Mary Lynn received her AS in Office Administration there in 1988.
The mission of Ozark Christian College is to train men and women for Christian service as a degree-granting institution of biblical higher education. Tom, Mary Lynn, and other members of their family have attended OCC.
